After an industrial accident 3 years ago, I had to undergo a lower leg amputation. After 1 year of walking with a socket prosthesis, I started having problems. The socket no longer fit properly and started to hurt when walking.
It was decided to try a vacuum prosthesis, but the complaints only increased. After more than 2 years, in consultation with the surgeon, I started the process for an osseointegration prosthesis.This was posted in May 2022.
From that moment on I have no more problems with a socket prosthesis that doesn’t fit, no more pain when walking, no more wet leg stump from sweating, no more blisters and broken knees. All complaints have disappeared like snow in the sun. I am very glad I had this surgery done. Now back to the top.
